Shehaj Arjan

Arjan Shehaj was born in 1989 in Patos, in southwest of Albania. He lives and works in Milan and Berlin. In 2012 he graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera and in 2015 he acquired the degree at that same Academy. Shehaj's art focuses on the geometrical element of the pictorial language; thereby he tries to reach the pure concept, reducing the artistic language to the sign. His work seems limited to very few lines and colors, and is getting more and more essential. This essentialist research is about perception. The one or two colors he uses allow him to experience many different techniques of various materials. Shehaj is not trying to recall reality but the structure of reality. What if the universe was holographic? Its structure would be the same as that of our perception. Lines unite, divide, dilate and then integrate, playing and giving shape to geometric shapes that live between the unreal dimension of the surface and the extension of real life, thus aiming to the pure and the 'absolute; beyond time and space sensory. His work is anthropometric. Human is all what we can measure.
