Attilio Quintili. Terra di rinascita

L’alchimia della “terra” come materia ancestrale prende vita nelle sculture in ceramica del derutese Attilio Quintili, esposte dal 21 Marzo al 7 aprile 2013 presso lo spazio dell’associazione Trebisonda di via Bramante a Perugia. Forme evocative di rara suggestione, queste opere lacerano il limite della materia aprendo finestre sul mistero della conoscenza, e rappresentano per l’Umbria l’inattesa risposta verso la possibilità di superamento della scultura informale in ceramica, di cui il più alto rappresentante resta ancora oggi Leoncillo. Curata da Andrea Baffoni, con la collaborazione di Antonella Pesola, Giovanna Brenci e Samanta Retini, la mostra presenta un inedito itinerario appositamente ideato per permettere allo spettatore di entrare nel mistero della materia, metafisicamente espresso da queste “nere” sculture, e riflettere sul valore intrinseco della “terra” come elemento fisico e spirituale. Opere attraverso cui Quintili rende l’argilla unica protagonista del proprio operare, elevandola a sostanza suprema poiché fondamentale per l’arte della ceramica (di cui l’Umbria è secolare rappresentante) e depositaria dei misteri della genesi cosmica.

The alchemy of the "clay" as ancestral matter takes life in the ceramics sculptures of  Attilio Quintili from Deruta, exposed from March the 21st to April the 7 th 2013 in the space Trebisonda, Bramante street, Perugia. Evocative forms of rare suggestion, these works lacerate the limit of the matter opening windows on the mystery of the knowledge and they represent for Umbria the unexpected answer toward the possibility of overcoming the informal ceramic sculputure, of which the highest representative stays today still Leoncillo. Curated by Andrea Baffoni, with the collaboration of Antonella Pesola, Giovanna Brenci,  Samanta Retini, the exhibition introduces an unpublished itinerary on purpose conceived for allowing the spectator to enter the mystery of the matter, metaphysically expressed by these "black" sculptures, and to reflect on the intrinsic value of the "clay" as physical and spiritual element. Works through which Quintili makes the clay the only protagonist of his works, raising it to supreme and fundamental substance for the art of the ceramics (of which Umbria is secular representative) and depositary of the mysteries of the cosmic genesis.
